Culture Trekking Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival Paro, Transfer
to hotel in Paro, tour the
Ta Dzong (museum), over night at hotel
Day 02: Sight seeing, visit
to Drukgyel Dzong, Visit Kyichu
Lhakhang then walk down the hill trail to visit
Rimpong
Dzong.
Day 03: Paro to Thimphu, a
brief stop at Simthokha Dzong
(oldest fortress, built in 1627)
After lunch visit as time permit: national Library,
Traditional Medicine centre, Traditional Arts
& crafts of
Bhutan, National Folk Heritage Museum, Memorial
Chorten
and Tashichhodzong, over night at hotel
Day 04: Thimphu to Trongsa,
via Dochula Pass (3,088m),
continue on to Wangduephodrang town, then proceed
to
Tongsa over Pelela Pass(3300m), overnight at
the lodge in
Trongsa.
Day 05: Trongsa to Bumthang,
Morning visit to striking
Trongsa Dzong, ancestral abode of Royal family.
Proceed to
Bumthang and in the afternoon visit the 17th
century Jakar
Dzong and then Kurje monastery, built in the
17th century.
Day 06: Bumthang to Ngang
Lhakhang, Distance 14km. The trek
begins today.
Day 07: Ngang Lhakhang to
Ugyencholing, Distance 19km
Day 08: Ugyencholing to Bumthang,
Distance 11km, In the
morning walk up to Ugyencholing Palace which
houses an
ancient private museum of Desi Choki Dorji,
on the way
visit the Meber tsho(the burning lake-a sacred
religious
site, over night at the lodge in Bumthang
Day 09: Bumthang to Punakha;
Morning visit to Jamey
Lhakhang an drive to Punakha, over night at
the hotel in
Punakha
Day 10: Punakha to Paro; Reach
Paro by lunch time and free
time for leisure or last minute shopping. Take
a stroll
around Paro market in the evening, over night
at
hotel/resort in Paro
Day 11: Paro depart
