Bandipur Hiking Located on a 1000m ridge in Tanahu district some 140km west from Kathmandu and 60km east from Pokhara, Bandipur's hallmark is its beautiful scenery. At the eastern part of the town is the pagoda-roofed Bindabasine temple which houses goddess Durga, Bandipurs guardian deity. The rich wooden carvings and details brass-work that adorn the temple are replicas of those found in the many old pagoda structures of the Kathmandu valley. The other important temples and shrines in the vicinity include the Mahalaxmi temple with its exquisite woodwork and Khadga Devi temple which comes alive once a year during the Dashain festival.

The hilltop settlement not only overlooks the incredible expanse of the Marsyanngdi river valley, but also offers a breathtaking sweep of the Himalayan range, from Langtang in the east to Dhaulagiri in the west. From nearby hilltops, one can see as far as Gorkha to east the great Chitwan to the south, among others, this is ideal place for two, three days hiking in the surrounding hills.

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Bandipur following the old trail. Sightseeing in Bandipur. 3.5 hrs (Driving) 2 hrs (hiking) 1.5 hrs (tour). Overnight Bandipur (Lodges/ resorts/ home-stay (L, D)
Day 02: Hiking up to Magar village Ramko or hiking to Mukhundeswari. Evening nature walk in Raniban. 4 hrs (Hiking) 2.5 hrs (tour in Raniban). Overnight Bandipur (Lodges/ resorts/ home-stay) (B, L, D)
Day 03: Explore Siddha Cave, recently discovered and probably the biggest cave in the Asia . Overnight (Hotel/ resorts/ Lodges) (B, L, D)
