Hiking in Nepal >> Daman Hiking

 

Daman is situated 80 kilometers south- west of Kathmandu at an altitude of about 2100 meters located on the Tribhuvan Highway , in between Kathmandu and the town to Birgunj. Daman is known for its it’s vantage location in viewing the Himalayan peaks such as Mt. Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Dorjelakpa, Gaurishankar, Cho yu etc. There is a view tower from where one can have a panoramic view of 300 miles of the Himalayan range. To see a breath taking view of the world's highest peak Mt. Everest Daman is one of the best places in Nepal . There is a view tower fitted with long range telescopes to see the 360 degree Himalayas view. Getting to Daman is from Kathmandu takes 2 and half hour to 3 hour drive by car or bus. Similarly it will take about 3.5 hour drive from Chitwan National park and about 7 hour drive from another popular touristy destination Pokhara. Good facilities of hotels and cuisine of international standards one can stay overnight in Daman with full pleasure.

It has some of the most fantastic views of the Himalaya views of the Himalayas. It has a great view of the mountains from Dhaulagiri to Mt Everest. Daman is halfway between Kathmandu and Hetauda at 2150m. It is definitely worth visiting.There is a viewing tower that has a telescope . There is not much in this town. On the side towards Hetauda, there are some interesting rhododendron forests, which is especially worth seeing during spring.
