Short Trekking from Kakani to Nagarkot - Our merely 7 days long trek from ‘Kakani to Nagarkot’, is one of the most popular trekking trip commencing from Kathmandu. Kakani is located north-west of Kathmandu; one can clearly enjoy the Himalayan landscape of central Nepal, with never-ending views of snowy ranges of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Ganesh Himal. From Kakani, we trek to Shivapuri (2729 m), it’s a great impromptu with the culture, tradition and life-style of the local inhabitants. From the top of Shivapuri, we can enjoy the awe-inspiring panoramic views of the western mountains like Manaslu, Ganesh Himal ranges, Langtang ranges, Gaurishanker, Dorjeelakpa, Shishapangma and many more. The area of Shivapuri is also protected under ‘Shivapuri national park’, which is home to a vast amount of endangered animals and birds’ species.

From Shivapuri, passing through Chisapani (2194m), we trek to Nagarkot (2175m); Nagarkot is a very popular hill-station known for one of the most mesmerizing sunrise and sunsets. Therefore, we would highly recommend you to stay here overnight and wake up to the most beautiful sunrise above the snow-capped peaks of Dhaulagiri in the west to Kanchenjunga in the east. On a clear day, Nagarkot bestows you with the unobstructed view of Mighty Everest, and other peaks including Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and Langtang.

Nagarkot has dense & luscious forests, offering a great view of the ancient Bhaktapur city from the hill –top. During the trek, you get plenty of chances to walk uphill & downhill the forests and see the picturesque Nagarkot villages.
