Mount Everest Base Camp has been a popular destination for trekkers since the very first expeditions to the Nepalese side of Everest in the 1953. To reach this part of the Himalaya within a limited time, we have devised this two week trek to Everest Base Camp which runs directly toEverest and from Lukla. Our Everest base camp trek is a great introductory lodge trek that offer sensational mountain views and an insight into the lives of the Sherpa people. After exploring the temples, shrines, bazaars and restaurants of Kathmandu we take an exciting mountain flight to Lukla and trek up the Dudh Kosi Valley, surrounded by the soaring peaks of Thamserku and Kusum Kanguru. It’s a steep ascent to Namche Bazaar, capital of the Kumbu Sherpas, where we are again greeted by spectacular mountain vistas. A rest day here aids acclimatization and there are great optional walks to enjoy the area. We then follow the trail to famous Tengboche, located high on a ridge where a magnificent 360-degree panorama awaits. The views of Everest, the Lhotse-Nuptse Wall, Ama Dablam and Kantega dominate this peaceful and spiritual location – surely one of the most tranquil and inspiring places in the world.
Mount Everest has an allure unrivalled by other mountains. It draws
trekkers from all over the globe to the famous Himalayan trail the classic
Everest Base Camp Trek for a journey that will make memories for a lifetime.
The trail climbs gradually through unspoilt wilderness, allowing you
to acclimatize fully as you approach Everest Base Camp, the ultimate
destination. With their local knowledge and experience, Sherpa guides
lead all our Everest Base Camp treks,
taking you into Sherpa country by trails less travelled than the busy
walking routes.
Our Everest Base Camp trek, which we have perfected over two decades,
starts with a breathtaking flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Two weeks
of challenging but rewarding trekking will follow during which you will
be able to enjoy the hospitality of the Nepalese people. We stay in
tea houses, which provide comfortable places to rest along the way.
You can choose how to finish your Everest
Base Camp trek; an early morning climb of Kala Pattar (5,545 meters)
gives the best views overlooking Everest Base Camp, with the added satisfaction
of scaling a Himalayan giant or you can visit Everest Base Camp itself
to look up at the biggest mountain in the world. It shows the real relief
of life which can help you to see the amazed glow of snow.
