Kanchenjunga is third biggest peak of the world. The Kanchenjunga is situated in the eastern frontier between Nepal and India. It is 8586mt. high. This region was opened for trekking tourism only in 1988. The trekking in this area is relatively strenuous since the region is regarded as the most remote place of Nepal. However the presence of numerous wild animals, bird and flora in abundance make the trekking in this area very interesting and pleasantry enclose a number of glacier peaks. The Sherpas inhabit the northern part of the Kanchenjunga region whereas the southern lower part is full of the ethnic groups such as Rai, Limbus, Magars, Tamangs, Brahmans and Chhetris. The settlements of these ethnic groups are not so dense; they are rather scattered. They are also different in tradition and their ways of life.
The whole trekking areas in this region stretches through and around Arun River Whose origin dates back to prehistoric period. The arun valley is one of the most beautiful regions to trek in Nepal.This area is abundant in wildlife and habitation consists of only a few scattered villages. There is good wildlife as musk deer, blue sheep and for the believer, the Yeti. Magnificent views of Everest, Makalu and look up at massif Mt. Kanchenjunga towering south face is easily reward enough for your efforts. We walk on a following quiet trail through beautiful remote landscapes will make the trip worth while.
