Trekking in Nepal >> Newly Opened Trekking >> Kathmandu Valley Rim Trek

The Kathmandu valley (1300m) is surrounded by tier of green mountain walls above which tower mighty snowcapped peaks. A full picturesque view of the valley is received by this trek only. This is the best trek to see, enjoy, view and experience the life around the Kathmandu valley. The route is comfortable full of green fields and settlements of the people who are apparently encroached by the modern urban life of the Kathmandu city but are unable to leave their way of traditional life of peasantry and self sustained economy.

A quick jaunt to the west of the capital, it is on a hill and enjoys generous views of the surroundings. The most famous temple in Nepal, Pashupatinath, cannot be visited by non-Hindus. That said, the setting, on the holy Bagmati River just to the east of Kathmandu, is very peaceful. Bodhnath, one of the biggest stupas in the world, is two kilometers through some fields further to the east, and can be visited in the same day. Changunarayan, a two-hour walk from Bhaktapur is visited by few foreigners, and Nagarkot, a town four hours from Bhaktapur, has some of the best Himalayan views in the area. There is so much more. Give the valley its due.

Entire route is fully conserved greenery and has very exciting flavor of both tradition and modernity. One does not have to miss the opportunity of seeing magnificent views of the Himalayas because this route also offers ample opportunities for viewing panoramic views of the Himalayan range from Gaurishankar to Langtang and Ganesh Himal to the perception of real proximity.
