Bhutan, officially the Kingdom of Bhutan, is a landlocked state in South Asia, located at the eastern end of the Himalayas and bordered to the south, east and west by the Republic of India and to the north by the People's Republic of China. Bhutan is separated from the nearby country of Nepal to the west by the Indian state of Sikkim, and from Bangladesh to the south by the Indian states of Assam and West Bengal. Bhutan has some of the best trekking in the world, with breathtaking scenery, a rich Buddhist culture, friendly people, and few other visitors. Bhutan has become one of the best destinations for trekking in t5he world. Among them Lasa Gasa trek is one of the popular trekking.
This route offers a great variety of trekking conditions, from picturesque farmland and forests to alpine pastureland and high passes. Spectacular campsites, beneath some of Bhutan’s most impressive peaks, of which the most notable are Chomolhari and Jichu Drake, are also features of this trekking route. Numerous isolated Dzongs and scattered settlements, including the extraordinary village of Laya, provide a great deal of cultural interest en route. The best month for this trek is April to June & mid-September to mid-November. April is the best month for the Laya region.
Day 01: Arrival by Paro, Transfer to hotel in Paro, tour the Ta Dzong (museum), over night at hotel
Day 02: Sight seeing, visit to Drukgyel Dzong. Visit Kyichu Lhakhang then walk down the hill trail to visit Rimpong Dzong.
Day 03: Paro to Shana, Distance 17km, trek starts from Drukgyel Dzong
Day 04: Shana to Soi Thangthangkha, Distance 20km, passes through Alt 3750m
Day 05: Soi Thangthangkha to Jangothang, Distance 19 km, the trek takes through 4040m Alt.
Day 06: Rest day at Jangothang, enjoy scenic beauty of nature and superb view of Chomolhari and ruined Dzong.
Day 07: Jangothang to Lingshi, Distance 18 km, there are lot to see and feel, the nature has lot to offer.
Day 08: Lingshi to Chebisa, Distance 10km, enjoy the exhilarating view of green hills, winding rivers and magnificent peaks.
Day 09: Chebisa to Shoumuthang, Distance 17 km, experience the steep climb of nearly 4 hrs up a ridge to Gudu La pass (4500m).
Day 10: Shoumuthang to Robluthang, Distance 18km, the trek starts with a climb up to Jari-la passes (4700m).
Day 11: Robluthang to Limithang, Distance 19km, start day with a long climb to 4900m height and enjoy stunning mountain view.
Day 12: Limithang to Laya, Distance 10 km, the walk to Laya offers you with a wonderful view of nature.
Day 13: Rest day at Laya, it is the second highest settlement in the country at 3800m. Enjoy the unique culture of the high Lander.
Day 14: Laya to Chamsa, Distance 19 km, trek along the Mo Chu (mother river of Punakha)
Day 15: Chamsa to Gasa Tshachu, Distance 14 km, visit the village of Gasa and Gasa Dzong, descend to Hot spring.
Day 16; Rest day, a perfect place to relax after a long walk
Day 17: Gasa Tshachu to Damji, Distance 18km, orchids are the common sights on this route.
Day 18: Damji to Punakha, sight seeing in Punakha and Wangdiphodrang valley
Day 19: Punakha to Thimphu, visit Memorial Chorten and Tashichhodzong, overnight at Hotel
Day 20: Thimphu, sightseeing includes National Library, Traditional Medicine centre, Traditional Arts & crafts of Bhutan and National Folk Heritage Museum
Day 21: Depart Paro, after early breakfast in the hotel drive
to Paro airport for flight to onward destination.
