Dolpa is isolated province of Nepal and the focal point of this area
is Shey Phoksumdo National Park .It reached in about a week from Jumla,
the centre of attraction is lovely Lake Phoksundo, famous for the ever-changing
colors of its waters. The east and south of it is bordered by the Dhaulagiri
and Churen Himal ranges and to the west by Jumla district. Trekking
to Lower Dolpa proffers you the remarkable and worthwhile experience
of lifetime. The noteworthy figure seen here are immaculate snowy peaks,
ancient and isolated villages, rich wildlife, reliable Buddhist monastery
and wonderful lakes. The people of this area are simple and warm-hearted
with enthralling culture and traditions. The cultural traditions of
this area are basically linked with Tibetan .
This is the province of some of Nepal's most astonishing wildlife, including
the blue sheep, the serow and the snow leopard.Peter Matthieseu's "The
Snow Leopard" and Snell grove’s "Himalayan Pilgrimage"
have contributed in illuminating the obscurity and attraction of Dolpo.
Dolpo lies between Dhorpatan and Rara and two of those treks could be
pooled into a single tour from Pokhara to Jumla. Dolpo trek on its own
takes one to two weeks, assuming you fly there in and out of Dunai.
Everyone heads north from there, entering the park after about a day
and reaching the lake after two days. A few houses in the region offer
shelter but it's a food deficit area, so you will need to be self-adequate
Upper Dolpa proffers a authentic exploration trekking on isolated and
rugged natural unblemished corner simply away from the Himalayan valleys
across western Nepal. This upper Dolpo region conserves one of the last
miscellanies of traditional Tibetan culture where the pre-Buddhist Bon-Po
religion is still in practice. High mountains including the Dhaulagiri
massif to the southeast surround this spiritual sanctuary that remain
cut off by high passes closed by snow half the year.
On our trail by skyline treks to upper Dolpa we exceed many mystical
stunning peaks and observer the religious ornaments of remote monastery
of Shey Gompa, which was established in the eleventh century and little
has changed here since then. We traverse over other two high passes:
the Sela (5094m) and the Jyanta pass (5221m) before trekking descend
to the Dho Tarap valley in our way to Juphal airstrip to end our historical
trip of lifetime to upper Dolpa, the land of mystery, scenery and peace.
