Annapurna Trekking Season
What is the optimal time of year for trekking in the Annapurna Region?
Table of Contents
While trekking is viable in the Annapurna region throughout the year, the prime trekking season occurs in October and November when crowds flock to the area. However, the shoulder seasons of September and December are also favorable times as the weather remains relatively good and the Annapurna circuit is less crowded. Despite concerns raised by some experts about trekking during the monsoon season, the risks are often exaggerated. If you choose to begin your trek further up in Bhulbhule or Syanja and depart from Jomsom by bus or plane, you'll spend most of your time partially shielded from Himalayan rain shadow and in areas with fewer leeches.
