Motorbike Ride in Tibet

You can also ride your own motorbike in Tibet, but there are a few documents you need to complete. We will assist you with this process. Once you provide all the necessary papers for your motorbike, we will issue a motorbike permit for you.

Best Time to Go for the EBC Motorbike Tour

You can embark on the Everest Base Camp Motorbike Tour year-round, but spring and autumn are the most favorable times due to the pleasant climate and excellent views. Winter (December to February) is not recommended as the cold weather makes the journey more challenging.

Tibet Visa & Travel Permit Information

You need to stay in Nepal for at least three days to obtain the Tibetan visa. To apply for the visa, you will need your original passport, a photo, and a completed embassy form (which we will provide). Additionally, send us a scanned copy of your passport, license, and motorbike blue book (if you are renting from us, we will provide this) at least a month in advance for the Tibet Travel Permit, self-ride permit, and other formalities.

Tibet Motorbike Permits

Riding to Everest Base Camp from Tibet requires special permits, which we will arrange for you. If you are traveling with us, we will handle all formalities, permits, and documents. You need a Tibet Travel Permit, Tibet Visa, Motorbike Permit, Self-Riding Permit, and Immigration Deposit for the Everest Base Camp Motorbike trip. Note that a Chinese Visa will be canceled when obtaining a Tibet Visa at the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal. We will provide a professional government-licensed tour guide to handle everything at the checkpoints.

Documentation

• International driving license
• Bluebook of the bike with five empty pages (if renting from us, we will provide this)

• Photograph of the bike with front and back number
• Your picture for the visa (white background visa picture at the time of handing over your original passport)
• Original passport upon arrival in Kathmandu
• Custom deposit payment slip or any other documents provided by Nepali customs when entering Nepal from India through any borders (only for those entering Nepal with their bike via Indian borders)
