Kangtega Expedition (6782m) also known as The Snow Saddle, is a major mountain peak of Himalayas in Nepal. Its summit rises 6,782 meters rising majestically from the Khumbu and Hinku valley next to another prominent mountain of Thamserku to the North. Ever since its first expedition in 1964, the mountain has lured thousands of mountaineers to successfully ascend its peak.

We approach Kangtega mountain from the South side over the Tsetrawala pass, passing through the Hinku glacier. It takes almost a week to reach the base camp situated at the bottom of the Kangtega ice-fall, resembling the famous Khumbu ice-fall of Mt. Everest. The camp to Kangtega is followed up with steep snow slopes, ice-falls and narrow crevasses. However, upon making it through its top, you are rewarded with the amazing mountain views and surrounding valleys’ beauty.
