Machermo peak (6237m) situated at Mahalangur region. Machermo peak climbing is one of the most interesting peaks climbing among the trekking Peaks in Nepal. To reach the base camp, the trail leads through Yak pasture, on the way of Gokyo valley trekking.

The base camp is set up above the rocky meadows and moraine around 5140 meter. Further climb ascends on the rock and snow slopes to reach the top. The same path descends to base camp. From the summit of this Peak provides stunning views of Amadablam, Lhotse Shar, Nuptse, Lhotse and Everest.

Note: As per the decision of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, mountains of the height less than 5800m will be promoted as trekking peaks and royalty fee has been waived for those peaks. Hence, the following peaks managed by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) are free of royalty fee from now on wards (2014 September 23rd).

Machermo Peak climbing itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: 40 minutes fly to Lukla and commence trek to Phakding (2652m) 3 hrs. Overnight at guesthouse. (B.L.D)
Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3446m) 6 hrs. Overnight at guesthouse. (B.L.D)
Day 04: Acclimatization day, hike to Everest view hotel (3900m) and back to Namche Bazaar 2 hrs. Overnight at guesthouse (B.L.D)
Day 05: Trek to Dole (4190m) 5 hrs. Overnight at guesthouse. (B.L.D)
Day 06: Trek to Machhermo (4410m) 5 hrs. Overnight at guesthouse. (B.L.D)

Equipment allowance (Legally each expedition must provide an equipment allowance for all Sherpa guides and porters. This allowance is necessary for brand new equipment (sleeping bag, shoes, crampons, down jacket, raincoat etc.). Because this expedition is not a high altitude expedition we will negotiate with the guides and porters to obtain an acceptable agreement for this allowance. Nevertheless the contribution of each participant will be around US$ 170.00
