Nar Phu Valley Trek takes you to the Nar and Phu village in Nepal located in Manang district which is less visited by tourist. The remote village is inhabited by ethnic group of Nepalese people influence by the Tibetan culture. The beautiful village Nar and Phu gives you the real taste of unique culture of Tibetan flavor. Nar-Phu valley was opened for foreigners only in 2002, so its natural and cultural beauty remains untouched from the outer-world influences.

Nar phu Valley Treks walks you through the hidden valley of Nar-Phu crossing the challenging high passes of Kang La and Thorong La. Nar-Phu valley trekking makes up a spectacular journey into a wild and unexplored located north of Annapurna circuit.
In order to trek into this valley a special permit is required. Trekking in Nar Phu valley needs minimum 2 persons to get the special permit. Nepal Government is still protecting this area as controlled trekking part. So, Nar Phu valley trek permit is compulsory for anyone to visit.
The trek combines exciting high peaks and passes, ice falls, glaciers, remote villages, narrow canyons, dense forests, yaks, monasteries, gompas and unique Himalayan cultures, it stays in your memories long after you get back from Nar-Phu valley too. Even though the entrance to the valley is somewhat narrow and forested, the valley system above opens up to a huge expanse of high snowy peaks, ancient villages and high altitude pasture lands.
The road trip from Kathmandu to Jagat is a long and tiring yet an experience of a lifetime. After having an early breakfast we will brace ourselves for the 8 hours journey and leave Kathmandu by a cozy four wheelers. On the way we will see terraced fields, rivers, villages and mountain vista and head Jagat via Besisahar. We will halt overnight at Jagat, the gorgeous village placed in the base of high hills. Here we will enjoy your meals: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner involved.
The following morning, after breakfast, we gradually begin our todays trek. At the start, we will descend the trail from Jagat until it gain the river and then make a move through the lush forest. The further swinging on the trail that runs alongside the clear Marshyangdi River. The sound of the river as we walk is inexplicably comforting. As we pass the sharp-edged cliff facing the riverbank, on the way the portrait of Chyamje village appear. The Chyamje village is amazingly enclosed by the soaring Annapurna mountain ranges. Later we will get over the suspension bridge, then the sharp climb emerge into the greasy, that is somewhat challenging route to Sattale. We will walk along a series of boulder-strewn trails; we then descend to a lush riverbank that connects with Tal, a small and pretty village placed on the bottom of the high hills. As we leave Tal the afterward trail is rough and sinuous. Next we will proceed toward the steep tree-covered village of Karte. Meandering here just marvel at the waterfalls and cliffs, in the end we gain Dharapani after crossing over a suspension bridge. Overnight in the teahouse meals: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner involved.
After having wholesome breakfast we will start our trek towards Bagarchhap village, we will pass by the vegetation of pine and fir forests which take about one hour. We can go to see and spend some time with white washed monastery in the village. After we cling on the trail until Danaque village, it lasts one more hour. Once we pass by Danaque then the further we climb through the steep trail until Timang, from here we can see the flagships views of Mt, Manaslu and Peak 29. Now the trail get back to level and we continue our trailing through the vegetation which lasts up to Latamarang, It takes about one and half hour. Yet again we will continue our trek through the forests through which we can have a brief sight of Annapurna II. In the long run we reach at Koto village. Before walking on the trail, we enroll our restricted area permit at the Police Check Post. We will follow a beautiful descent and then walk through the Soti Khola riverbank, over again we walk through the canopy of pine forests, and we will pass by streams and suspension before making Dharmshala. Today we will not see any teahouses until we arrive at Meta, so we will take a packed lunch with us from Koto. Then we continue the trek through forest and with all huff and puff we take a steep climb towards Meta village. Eventually we run into the Tibetan highland from where we will offered many Himalayas rewards, serving as, the glorious views view of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. Long distance to cover today, so we will start early for Phu Gaon passing by up and down and taking the suspension bridges to cross various streams. After approximately four hours of trek we will reach Kyang where we can see the leftovers, mostly the ruins fortress of the Khampa settling (the place which Khampa refugee from Tibet came and settle here way back). From here the trail heads to Phu Khola we will walk through the rocky riverbank and reach the Phu village with more 3-4 hours. Overnight in the teahouse meals: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner involved.
We set aside one day in Phu Gaon so that we can acclimatize rest up and regain the energy we need for the coming days. We are at Phu “the hidden valley” on our acclimatization day we will explore the natural diversity and religious praxis of the ethnic groups mainly- Ghale and Gurung. Furthermore, we will observe and consult a local people about how they make their survival depending on agriculture and livestock farming or we will leave it to the experience of our guide to make this clear. On the reserved day we will be visiting the Tashi Lhankhang monastery- the oldest Buddhist monastery enrolled as the 108th world’s great monastery. It is taken for granted as the last monastery built by Karmapa Rinpoche. Besides, exploring the cultural and religious mark of the hidden valley we can get breathtaking views of Himlung Himal and other white peaks in the tract. The is another moderate day for trekking, crossing many bridges over streams before reaching Mahendra Pul (bridge) this takes about four hours. We will cross the longest 80m suspension bridge over the gorge of Lapcha River. After gorging with Lunch at Mahendra Pul we will cling on the steep climb leaving behind many Buddhist Stupas and finally gain Nar village which takes 2 hours. We trace out numerous small monasteries in the village along with the galvanizing views of Pisang peak and many small ponytails. Overnight in the teahouse meals: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner involved.
One more day reserved for this trek. Today we will do some brief walking nearby the Nar village and explore the ritual culture, tradition and position of the local’s. We as well make plans for the next day trek. Overnight in the teahouse meals: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner involved.
Today we have to cover long distance and also a difficult day due to the high pass cross. So we will wake up early in the morning and set out for the Kangla La pas. From the top of the pass we can see the mountain chain of Annapurna. We then follow the steep incline hike to Ngwal. Overnight in the teahouse meals: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner involved.
Easy trek today, it’s a shorter 8-10 kms to Manang from Ngwal. We will pass by the lonely village of Paugh leaving the resplendent vistas of Annapurna range. Then we take an easy climb facing Mungli and then the leading route of Annapurna Trail at Mungli. A short walk from Mungli we will gain Manang, here we will ready up our camps for the night stay. Overnight in the tented camp meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner involved.
On today’s trek from Manang village which passes a stream, ascends towards Tenki village and keep ascending out of the Marshyangdi vale. We will change direction to northwest to the top of Jarsang Khola (stream).We will tread on the trails that chase this valley to northward. Next we will pass a few meadows and undershrub of juniper trees, just as gradually increase elevation. After that the further trail moves next to the tiny village of Ghunsa, a group of horizontal clay roofs just beneath the trailhead. At once the trail passes through pasture where we can see the grazing herd of horses and yaks. Later than we will get over by a wooden bridge and come across the prehistoric Mani wall in a enjoyable pastureland and after that we will gain one more small village of Yak Kharka. Today is another moderate day for trekking. We will walk on the trail which gives the amazing views from the both two ends. On the way we will pass by the small pretty village of Lethar and continue up to the bottom of the pass at Throng Phedi. Throng Phedi is a baby and busy settling that meet the needs of exhausted trekkers and climbers. This point is also used as the base camp by the trekkers. Few trekkers make an attempt and hike to the High Camp which takes about 1.5 hours and the climb is sharp steep and difficult. But Skyline treks part, our trek guide does not push for. Even though the next day trek is hard, we will halt at Thorung Phedi in order to avoid altitude sickness and can have a sound sleep instead risking sleeping in a higher altitude at High Camp. The final climb to the world highest pass as Thorung La pass is tough but worth our every penny we paid. Two things make it tough one is the steepness and other is walking on the icy high altitude trail. So we will start early morning about 4 am to avoid the strong wind. Once we make the top of Thorung La pass at 5,416m/17,764ft we will utterly astound by the wide array of snowy mountains. From the top we can feel the mountains view almost like from our balcony. We then follow the easy downhill descent to Muktinath. Overnight in the teahouse meals: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner involved.
Early in the morning we will visit Muktinath temple which is a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists. Then we will descend the striking Kali Gandaki gorge through the barren land. We will pass by Jharkot and Khingar villages; here we can see the houses with typical Tibetan architecture: walking through the riverbank of Kaligandaki River we will reach Jomsom. Overnight in the teahouse meals: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner involved.
We will 6 hrs drive from Jomsom to Pokhara. Making the drive itself an amazing experience the airplane whip through a gorge between Mt, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, upon arriving in Pokhara we can use our spare time in relaxation. Overnight in the Hotel meals: B&B involved.
The Nar Phu Valley Trek is considered moderately difficult, requiring a reasonable level of fitness and some previous trekking experience due to its remote location, high altitude, and challenging terrain.
The Nar village is situated at an altitude of approximately 4,100 meters (13,450 feet) above sea level.
Phu Village in Nepal is situated at an altitude of approximately 4,080 meters (13,386 feet) above sea level.

Nar Phu Valley Trek one of the highlights of the trek was visiting the ancient villages of Nar and Phu. The Tibetan Buddhist culture is so rich here, and the people were incredibly warm and welcoming. It was like stepping into another world.
