Trip Highlights
Pumori Expedition (7145m) providing a sober climb, Mt. Pumori is possibly the most popular 7000meter Himalayan peaks of Nepal. Since, it doesn’t require much of a technical expertise, it offers an ideal preparation for mountaineers targeting for other 8000 meter high peaks including the Mighty Mt. Everest. Only 8 km west of Mount Everest, Pumori also lies in the popular Khumbu region along Nepal-Tibet border. First mounted by a German-Swiss expedition team in 1964, the name Pumori means an unmarried daughter in the Sherpa language.
Having said that Mt. Pumori is relatively less challenging than climbing 8000 meter high peaks, but still requires climbers to have previous mountaineering experienced, with an excellent physical condition. The ascent to the Pumori is rewarded with stunning photographic views of snowy mountains including Lhotse and Everest.
In case you don’t have previous mountaineering experience, we recommend you to join our preparatory programs of mountaineering, which is conducted in other mountains a bit easier to attempt.
