When planning a trip, choosing the right time can greatly enhance the experience, increasing the chances of success and creating lasting memories. Island Peak Climbing is possible year-round, but we recommend embarking on this adventure in the spring or fall when the trek's beauty is at its peak.
In spring, the trekking trails are breathtaking, offering stunning views of the mountains, dense forests, vibrant meadows, and blooming rhododendrons. The weather is typically sunny, warm, and pleasant, with clear views of the Himalayas and bright blue skies. Daytime temperatures can reach 15 to 17 degrees Celsius, while nighttime temperatures above 4,000 meters may drop to around -10 degrees Celsius.
Autumn is another excellent season due to its dry, stable weather. Being post-monsoon, autumn provides clear vistas of both the valleys and the Himalayas. While a bit cooler than spring, the weather is still comfortable, with temperatures ranging from 0 to 15 degrees Celsius. By late November, nighttime lows of -15 degrees are common.
Summer, during the monsoon, is not ideal for Island Peak Climbing. Heavy rainfall leads to muddy, treacherous trails and poor visibility. Additionally, avalanches and landslides are potential hazards, making the trek riskier during this season.
Winter, spanning December through February, is considered the off-season for Island Peak Climbing. However, with proper preparation, the right gear, and the support of an experienced climbing guide, it is still possible—especially in December. For those who enjoy solitude and peaceful trekking routes, December can be an ideal time, as the trails are much quieter.
For the best experience, plan your climb during the spring or autumn seasons when the weather is most conducive to safe and enjoyable climbing.

Island Peak Climbing
3rd November, 2022
The island peak climbing was mixed bag of difficulties, energizing, exciting and contemplative experiences for me. The adventurous with formidable routes of island peak that guided me to find triumph at its highest point of 6,189 was challenging and humbling.
But this all was nothing due to the contribution, devotion and high concerned by Skyline treks and expedition. What an outstanding arrangement by the peak climbing leader (Mr. Madhav pandey) and kudos from my heart to my Sherpa climbing guide (Tenzi Sherpa) without whom the island peak climbing would fly out of the window.
Our entire team eternally advises for Skyline treks and team. We urge for your growing business.
